The world right now is starving for nice stories. There’s a lot of very serious business afoot, from the election to the pandemic to the long-needed social justice reform proposed by the Black Lives Matter movement. And though sometimes these serious stories sometimes take bizarre and absurd turns, a brain can only take so much important stuff before it needs a break. And on Sunday, we got one, thanks to Jon Cryer.
On yet another crazy Sunday, the Two and a Half Men and John Hughes movie alum cut through the din of Twitter to share a sweet story. It began with heartbreak: He lost his wedding ring.

VANCOUVER — Actor Jon Cryer had good reason to cry.
The actor, known for his time on Two and a Half Men and who currently stars as Lex Luthor on the Vancouver-filmed Supergirl, wrote a dramatic Twitter thread Sunday, explaining how he’d lost his wedding ring over the weekend on the Vancouver seawall — but against all odds and through torrential downpour of rain, managed to find the ring.

WHEN it comes to planning a wedding, there’s a lot to consider – but luckily for Prince Philip, the Queen’s ring wasn’t one of them
Keeping up with royal tradition, Her Majesty’s wedding band was crafted from Welsh gold and has a secret inscription on the inside.
The secret message, however, has remained a mystery, despite marrying over seventy years ago, with only three people knowing what it says – the Queen, 94, Prince Phillip, 99, and the engraver.
Writing in her new book Prince Philip: A Portrait of the Duke of Edinburgh, royal expert Ingrid Seward said: “At least Philip didn’t have the expense of a wedding ring, as the people of Wales supplied a nugget of Welsh gold from which the ring as made.
That might have had the 2018 NFL AP defensive rookie of the year asking around Monday, “Does anyone know where a certain symbol of my lifetime commitment is?” Fortunately for Leonard, he heard an “I do.”
The happy news came, at least publicly, from a sports journalist related to the young Colts fan who caught Leonard’s gloves. Tyler Brooke shared a photo on Twitter of his step-nephew wearing Leonard’s No. 53 jersey while proudly holding the memorabilia, and he asked for help in reuniting the ring with its rightful owner.
Brooke got a reply from Leonard himself, who added several crying-with-laughter emoji in tweeting, “I need that.”
Brooke subsequently tweeted that he believed the matter was being handled, and NFL Network reported the ring “is en route back to [Leonard] in Indianapolis.”
A spokesman for the Colts did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
