We know, because the neurotic and lovable character reunited with the rest of the movie’s main cast Friday for a new story self-recorded by the actors and written and directed by Nancy Meyers. “Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish)” was shared on the Netflix YouTube and Facebook accounts to benefit World Central Kitchen.

The nearly 27-minute-long sort-of-sequel, which takes place 25 years after “Father of the Bride Part II” (yes, it has been that long) follows a current-day Banks family Zoom, complete with Nina (Diane Keaton), daughter Annie (Kimberly Williams-Paisley), son Matty (Kieran Culkin) and eclectic wedding planner Franck (Martin Short).

Watch as Father of the Bride Cast Reunites for Virtual Netflix Sequel

The cast of Father of the Bride reunited after 25 years, bringing back many original characters for a Zoom-style new story in what Netflix is calling a “special sequel.” Running about a half hour long, the quasi-sequel, dubbed Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish), was made available to watch for free on Netflix’s Facebook and YouTube pages. The special reunion was put together for the benefit of the non-profit organization World Central Kitchen, which works to provide meals to millions of children, families, seniors, and frontline workers.

Reprising their roles from the original Father of the Bride movies from the 1990s, the reunion special stars Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Kieran Culkin, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Martin Short, and George Newbern. ‘Father of the Bride’ Cast Reunites After 25 Years

After 25 years, the “Father of the Bride” family reunited on screen, with additional members, for “Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish)” streaming exclusively on Netflix’s YouTube channel and Facebook page on Friday. 

The film, a remake of the 1950 original movie of the same name, tells the story of George Banks (Steve Martin), who has to come to terms with his daughter Annie (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) getting married and moving out. Diane Keaton plays his wife, Nina. 

The reunion, introduced by Reese Witherspoon, was to benefit the World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing meals to communities affected by disasters, such as the coronavirus pandemic.
