The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 53, said “I do” to fiancé Mike Hill on Saturday during a lavish wedding ceremony at the Governors Towne Club in Acworth, Georgia, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal.
“Mike and I are elated that today has finally come! 10/10/20 is and always will be our perfect date. We are not perfect, but, are perfect for each other,” the newlyweds tell PEOPLE. “We are living in a very different time, and now more than ever we realize that life is too short, and to never take anything for granted. We are so grateful to have found each other. Love with the help of God conquers all.”
White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows hosted a large wedding for his daughter that appeared to violate a Georgia order and city of Atlanta guidelines aimed at stopping the spread of COVID-19, an Atlanta newspaper reported Thursday.
Photos of the event show that social distancing guidelines were not followed during the May 31 nuptials at the Biltmore Ballrooms Atlanta, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
About 70 guests, including U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, wore tuxedos and ball gowns but no masks at the indoor wedding, and photographs show groups of people clustered closely together in the same room throughout the evening, the newspaper said.
Gov. Brian Kemp’s orders at the time banned gatherings of more than 10 people. The governor later loosened some coronavirus restrictions.
The Biltmore Hotel was one of Atlanta’s most lavish gathering
Meadows walked his daughter, Haley, down the aisle on May 31 at the event hosted at the Biltmore Ballrooms in Midtown Atlanta, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. The lavish, black-tie wedding featured crystal chandeliers, marble floors and a frame of soaring Roman arches, but no face coverings to help mitigate the spread of coronavirus.
