Today is World Mental Health Day. I’m signifying it by writing about it.
I am a suicide survivor.
I’m not usually great with dates, but there are some that have been seared into my mind as surely as if they had been tattooed onto my skin. In 2003, my husband, Laurie, had a psychotic event, leading to his hospitalization and diagnosis of a frontal-lobe meningioma. Following surgery, our doctor warned us that he was liable to crash into a wall of depression after a month. Sure enough, one month later, almost to the day, it happened. That’s when he was diagnosed with bi-polarity.
Living with and loving a person who suffers from bipolarity is a full time job when he is in the throes of a bi-polar cycle. When Laurie was manic, it was like trying to hold on to the string of a helium balloon, trying to keep him
Black Veil Brides guitarist Jinxx (Jeremy Ferguson) and his wife Alice Mogg made a special announcement yesterday on social media. The couple welcomed their first child into the world earlier this week.
Jinxx first announced the two were expecting a baby back in June. He posted a picture of Mogg alongside the tiniest pair of Vans saying the “first Black Veil baby” was due in October.
Mogg also shared her own post about her pregnancy thanking everyone for their love and support.
Official announcement! There’s a bun in the oven!🤰🏼Due in October. @jinxxed4life and I couldn’t be more excited at the prospect of becoming parents. Thank you all for your kind words and support.
She also shared several updates over the past few months showing off her baby bump and saying how excited she was to become a mom.
This year’s presidential election demonstrates a massive difference in agendas between Democrats and Republicans on the issue of abortion. The 2020 election pits one of America’s most successful pro-life incumbents against what is quite possibly the most pro-abortion Democratic ticket in our nation’s history. Kamala Harris’ debate performance on Wednesday proved this loud and clear.
First and foremost, Harris championed abortion behind a veil of ethical hypocrisy. During the debate, Senator Harris said that she and Joe Biden were raised to value “the importance of fighting for the dignity of all people.” Well, does or does that not include
Anyone who throws stones at billionaire atheist George Soros can expect to be shunned or censored by his protectors in the media. Just ask top Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass or former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
A veteran journalist, Kass blasted Soros for bankrolling the election of soft-on-crime prosecutors. His snowflake Tribune colleagues accused him of publishing an “odious anti-Semitic conspiracy theory” and demanded an apology. But Kass refused to grovel, pointing out he was only repeating widely reported facts.
Gingrich charged on Fox that the “number one problem” behind riots and looting in big cities is “George-Soros-elected Left-wing, anti-police, pro-criminal district attorneys.” That triggered a Fox News’s Melissa Francis who interjected, “I’m not sure we need to bring George Soros into this.”
“Okay, so it’s verboten?” asked a surprised Gingrich. Five painful seconds of silence followed.
Despite media censors, the truth is that George Soros is bringing chaos to
K-Pop group BLACKPINK are taking over North America this year with their catchy hits and collabs with artists such as Selena Gomez.
Now, BLACKPINK are also winning over the hearts of Black Veil Brides fans. The BVB Army have noticed a subtle nod to the band in BLACKPINK’s new video for “Lovesick Girls.”

Although BLACKPINK and Black Veil Brides’ music couldn’t be more different, their worlds are colliding in the “Lovesick Girls” video. The BVB members may not appear alongside the girl group, but they still managed to make a surprising cameo.
BLACKPINK dropped the “Lovesick Girls” video on Oct. 1. The video is filled with some iconic choreography and sets. However, it is the group’s wardrobe that is catching the attention of the BVB Army.
South Australian Senator Rex Patrick has thrashed National Cabinet for its secrecy – telling Sky News people have a “right to know”.
Senator Patrick is pushing to clear the smokescreen around National Cabinet after having a freedom of information request turned down.
“I did go straight for the jugular and I requested the minutes of the National Cabinet on the basis that I think there is an abuse going on,” he said.
“At the start of WWII, the government formed a national council, and that was appropriate, a national council of federal and state leaders, but they didn’t place this veil of secrecy that cabinet places over everything.
In a recent appellate decision, the court discussed the N.J. Prompt Pay Act, a fraudulent inducement claim and piercing the corporate veil with regard to a subcontractor’s claims against a general contractor. In finding in favor of the sub-contractor, the court applied the N.J. Prompt Pay Act and a fraudulent inducement claim in order to pierce the corporate veil of the contractor who had declared bankruptcy.
In this matter, the subcontractor had properly completed its work and said work had been approved by the contractor, thereby triggering the N.J. Prompt Pay Act. Thereafter, the contractor certified to the general manager that it paid the subcontractor for the concrete work, even though it had not paid the subcontractor. Shortly thereafter, the contractor filed for bankruptcy and it sought the protection of the bankruptcy court against any claims brought by the subcontractor.
Following the birth of her third child, Jorgia Hamel Nevers experienced Postpartum Depression (PPD) for the first time. The 30-year-old from Robeline, Louisiana, identified her symptoms and spoke with her husband, Travis, and a counselor. They informed her doctor during a 6-week postnatal follow-up appointment. He prescribed Zulresso, the first FDA-approved drug designed to treat postpartum depression. It is an IV treatment which can reportedly help patients feel relief from symptoms within 48 hours. Soon, Nevers felt a loving, healthy attachment to her baby River and her 2-year-old and 5-year-old sons again. She decided to share her story because she says she wants women who are experiencing PPD to know that they can speak up, seek treatment and get better. This is her story, as told to PEOPLE.
River was born August 27, 2019. I started having some PPD symptoms a week after her birth. Since she’s

NPR’s Mary Louise Kelly talks with correspondent Susanne Koelbl of Der Spiegel about her book, Behind the Kingdom’s Veil: Inside the New Saudi Arabia Under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
MARY LOUISE KELLY, HOST:
About a year ago, Saudi Arabia opened its doors to foreign tourists. The move was part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s grand plan to transform the ultraconservative kingdom into a modern, open state with a more modern, open economy. Well, how that is playing out is a complicated, often contradictory story, as we have reported. And, of course, being a tourist anywhere right now is tough with the pandemic shutting down most international travel, all of which makes a new book that offers insights into the lives of ordinary Saudis in
Deciding what veil to wear is a major moment in creating your overall wedding day look. With wedding veil styles ranging from a face-framing 4″ to a floor-skimming 120″, many brides are overwhelmed by the sheer number of options. “A veil highlights a bride’s appearance when walking down the aisle,” says Stephanie Caravella of Bel Aire Bridal. “It can also enhance the wedding dress by complementing the beading or embroidery on the gown.”
But the decision isn’t as simple as choosing a long or short veil. Different types of veils and lengths can completely transform your wedding style. While a blusher may convey a retro-chic vibe, a cathedral-length veil feels traditional and oh-so dramatic.
