Changing Gathering Limits Put Wedding Guest Lists In Flux

Posted on by iwano@_84

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – It seems every week there is another change to the gathering limits in Pennsylvania. One industry that continues to be hit hard by the COVID-19 restrictions is weddings.

The first piece of advice from wedding planners during the coronavirus pandemic is to always have a Plan B. Brides can sometimes plan the big day years in advance but gathering limits could change days before the event.

Just this week, the state reverted to outdoor limits of 250 and indoor at 25 after a judge issued a stay on the previous federal ruling. So what does that mean for brides who had upped their guest list? Well, it depends on the individual venue.

Ali Simcho with Wanderlust Weddings and Events said restaurant venues are more restricted to the state guidelines but some privately-owned facilities are going up to a 50 percent capacity.

Simcho said at the end

NYC bride ditched at altar by groom who claimed his Uber was late

Posted on by iwano@_84

And you thought you had a bad break up story!

A Brooklyn woman was devastated when her boyfriend of 10 years not only lied to her about paying for the wedding venue, but on the day of the wedding didn’t bother to show up after leaving her hanging for hours, claiming his Uber was late.

Nurse, Sasha Aristide, 29, was excited to marry her man, office manager Kevin Hyppolite, 30, in October 2018.

The two got engaged in December of 2017 and started planning the $20,000 wedding — and Aristide thought everything was fine … until the wedding day.

Aristide said the first sign something wasn’t right was a phone call from her florist on the big day. She told her story on the podcast, RealFix — about “real people telling their stories” — which was picked up by the Sun.

“My florist called me and told me that the

How to prepare your finances for the floodgate of 2021 weddings

Posted on by iwano@_84

According to a new study by wedding planning website Zola, 63% of couples are postponing their weddings by one year or more from their original date as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

And the change in timelines isn’t just affecting the bride and groom. If you were planning to attend a wedding in 2020, you’ve probably already had to shift your plans to 2021. Lots of couples (24% according to Zola’s study) plan on tying the knot in 2020 and having their reception later, but a good portion (38%) are delaying their entire wedding until things calm down.

Between the “catch up” weddings postponed from 2020, and the 2021 weddings proceeding as planned, it’s time to prepare for your budget to take a hit as next year’s calendar fills up with bridal showers, bachelorette/bachelor parties and/or out-of-town receptions.

But there’s an added glitch: No matter how far in advance

Tom and Tina tied the knot on the property of Tom’s parent’s senior care facility where they live. If Lois and Gerry Anderson were to leave the facility for the wedding, they would have had to quarantine for 14 days before they could return. Instead their son and now daughter-in-law decided to bring the wedding, to them. They kept the event small, and intimate. However, other residents and employees of Pioneer Health and Rehab got to watch the ceremony too.

Erica Salsbury, Administrator at Pioneer Health and Rehab told WEAU,

“Honestly it was exciting, I woke up Friday morning just like it was my own wedding I

Gallery: Here’s how to tell whether you’re in an equal relationship (Espresso)

In the end, it turned out to be better than the wedding we had originally planned. Perhaps because our lockdown experience, like so many others’, had involved death, loss and financial strain. When the day came around, what we’d initially thought might end up feeling like a sombre, legal officiation was actually a jubilant moment of escapism.

When our first wedding – the one that had taken a year to plan – was cancelled by our venue in March a week before the nationwide lockdown, we, like many couples, assumed we’d still be able to have our big day in 2020. So, my fiancé and I planned how we might need to adapt things. Either way, we’d decided this year was when we were getting married, Covid be damned.

The dress, which is described as a “simple elegant lace floral boho wedding gown, has left some people conflicted after it was shared on Facebook, according to 9 Honey.

The streaming service shared a preview image on the show’s official Twitter account, revealing that the costume designer – Emmy award-winning Amy Roberts – wanted to “capture the same spirit” of the original bridal gown, rather than making an exact replica.

Princess Diana’s bridal gown was created by David and Elizabeth Emmanuel. Roberts’ version of the dress features a similar voluminous silhouette, with the same style of puff sleeves and frilled, bow-festooned neckline. Corrin also sports a similar cathedral-length veil, as well as an imitation of Diana’s famed hairstyle.
